UPSSSC VDO Re Exam 2023: Everything You Need to Know
The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced the re-examination for the post of Village Development Officer (VDO) on 26th and 27th June 2023. The exam was originally scheduled to be held in 2019, but it was cancelled due to technical reasons.
The re-examination will be conducted in offline mode and will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions. The questions will be on general knowledge, general science, mathematics, Hindi, and English. The exam will be of 2 hours duration and the minimum qualifying marks are 40%.
The eligibility criteria for the VDO post are:
- Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years (as on 1st January 2023)
- Education: Graduation from a recognized university
- UP PET 2022 qualified
The application process for the re-examination is already over. The admit cards will be released on the UPSSSC website a few days before the exam.
The VDO post is a very popular government job in Uttar Pradesh. The salary for the post is around Rs. 35,000 per month. The job also comes with other benefits such as pension, medical reimbursement, and leave travel allowance.

सामान्य हिंदी : अलंकार, रस, समास, पर्यायवाची, विलोम, तत्सम एवं तदभव, सन्धियां, वाक्यांशों के लिए शब्द निर्माण, लोकोक्तियाँ एवं मुहावरे, वाक्य संशोधन – लिंग, वचन, कारक, वर्तनी, त्रुटि से सम्बंधित अनेकार्थी शब्द।
सामान्य बुद्धि परीक्षण: समानताएँ, समानताएँ और अंतर, अंतरिक्ष विज़ुअलाइज़ेशन, अंकगणितीय तर्क और अलंकारिक वर्गीकरण, अंकगणितीय संख्या श्रृंखला, गैर-मौखिक श्रृंखला, कोडिंग और डिकोडिंग, आंकड़े श्रृंखला, वर्गीकरण, कथन और निष्कर्ष, वेन आरेख आदि।
सामान्य विज्ञान : उक्त भाग में अभ्यर्थियों से सामान्य विज्ञान, राष्ट्र तथा अन्तर्राष्टीय महत्व की सामयिक घटनाएं, भारत का इतिहास भारतीय राष्ट्रीय आन्दोलन, भारतीय राजव्यवस्था तथा अर्थव्यवस्था, विश्व भूगोल तथा जनसंख्या, संबंधी प्रश्न पूछे जाएंगे।
सामान्य विज्ञान के प्रश्न, दैनिक अनुभव तथा प्रेक्षण से सम्बन्धित विषयों सहित विज्ञान के सामान्य प्रबोध एवं जानकारी पर होंगे, जिसकी किसी भी सुशिक्षित व्यक्ति से अपेक्षा की जा सकती है, जिसने किसी वैज्ञानिक विषय का अध्ययन नहीं किया हो।
भारतीय इतिहास: भारत के इतिहास के अन्तर्गत आर्थिक, सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक तथा राजनीतिक पक्षों की व्यापक जानकारी पर ध्यान देना होगा। भारतीय राष्ट्रीय आन्दोलन पर अभ्यर्थियों से भारतीय स्वतन्त्रता आन्दोलन की प्रकृति तथा विशेषता, राष्ट्रवाद का अभ्युदय तथा स्वतन्त्रता प्राप्ति के बारे में सामान्य ज्ञान अपेक्षित है। भारतीय राज व्यवस्था तथा अर्थव्यवस्था के अन्तर्गत भारतीय राजव्यवस्था, भारतीय संविधान, भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था तथा नियोजन के व्यापक लक्षणों की जानकारी पर प्रश्न होंगे।
विश्व भूगोल: विश्व भूगोल तथा जनसंख्या में केवल विषयों की सामान्य जानकारी की परख होगी जिसमें भारत के भूगोल में भौतिक/पारिस्थितिक, आर्थिक, सामाजिक, जनांकिकीय पक्षों पर विशेष बल दिया जाएगा। अभ्यर्थियों से उपरोक्त की सामान्य जानकारी अभिज्ञा विशेषत: उत्तर प्रदेश के पिप्रेक्ष्य में अपेक्षित है।
कम्प्यूटर के प्रारम्भिक ज्ञान से सम्बच्चित प्रश्न होंगे।
